<<< MailSpy 1.0 for L.O.R.D. >>>

<<< ChasWare (c)1996 >>>
<<LICENSE YAKKETY YAK>>
MailSpy is being released as shareware. You may however, use it for as long
as you would like in the unregistered mode.
<<THE REST>>
This utility is gauranteed to either do nothing (configured wrong), work as
advertised (used properly) or really mess things up (used improperly and very
unlikely). This util works great on the authors as well on at a few beta test
sites.
MailSpy is a utility intended to make the policing of your LORD games a bit
easier than DOSing your way all around. It will allow you to view and edit
various data files created by LORD. This utility does nothing that you can't
already do from a DOS prompt, but it does make things quite easy.
MailSpy was originally written to allow me to keep tabs on my 9 year old
daughter who was doing some not so 9 year old things in her LORD games! It
then grew into what it is today.
MailSpy can handle up to 3 different LORD games.
Suggested installation method:
1. Unarchive this package into ANY directory.
2. Fire up MAILSPY.
3. Nothing will work until you select the configuration option and enter the
information. Everything you need to know is right there on the
configuration menu, but here it is anyhow:
A. Your first name
B. Your last name
C. Your BBS name
D. Alias name for first LORD game
E. Path to first LORD game
F. Alias name for second LORD game
G. Path to second LORD game
H. Alias name for third LORD game
I. Path to third LORD game
H. FULL PATH AND NAME of your favorite TEXT editor.
That's all there is to it! If you don't have 3 games, just fill in whatever
info is appropriate for your system and ignore the rest.
The rest is the fun part. You can clean up your game (take care of foul
language) or make it dirtier or whatever!
PLeaSe ReaD THe FoLLoWiNG IMPoRTaNT INFo:
Now that I have your attention....<G>
CAUTION : WHILE IN THE EDIT MODE, ALL TEXT RELATED STUFF IS YOUR OWN
RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!! KNOW YOUR EDITOR AND KNOW IT WELL SO THAT YOU DON'T
SCREW THINGS UP. IT YOU CHANGE AND SAVE IT, THE RESULTS, GOOD OR BAD ARE
YOUR OWN DOINGS. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT SOMETHING IS, DON'T MESS WITH IT
SINCE IT IS PROBABLY SOMETHING THAT LORD PUT THERE FOR COLOR DISPLAY OR
SOME OTHER PURPOSE.
My apologies for yelling....
The only limitations are that the maximum amount of lines that can be viewed
is 500. While you are viewing the files, the files are NOT OPEN so sharing
violations should not be a problem. I am working on an improved viewer.
All options that this has to offer are available in one form or another in
the unregistered mode. They just may not all be available in the places that
you would like.
See REG.FRM for information on how to register.
